Shortly after our founder, Mama Kia, passed away, our current directors and board took on the task of raising the Niños to adulthood.
We’ve done that and gone beyond, supporting the youth through college and into their adult lives. This is an unusual level of support for a Children’s Home — but very normal for a family, which is how we see ourselves.
We’d like to invite all of the donors, volunteers, and friends of the Casa to join us to celebrate.
The Closing Ceremony

A gathering and celebration to honor our donors, friends, and volunteers and mark the occasion of our youth and staff stepping into their new lives.
Enjoy local live bands for dancing and a gala dinner on Saturday evening and a closing festive brunch on Sunday March 2.
You’ll see slide shows and videos of the Niños over the years, and some of our youth will share who they are, what they do, and the gratitude they feel to our Global Family of supporters.
All the events will happen at the Amaru Valle Hotel — we recommend getting a room there for the weekend. Cost is about $50 a night for shared or matrimonial rooms, about $40 for single room. The hotel offers great hot showers and mountain views, and secure parking space if needed.
There is no cost to attend the ceremony. However, if you’d like to make a donation to offset the costs, we’d love that!
We suggest donations of around $25, but welcome more if you’re feeling generous. We’ll have a pot or basket at the event for this.
Any additional donations will go toward the closing of the Casa — we have debts to resolve and a few youth who will still need support for their educational expenses.

Joshua and I are so grateful to be able to join in this celebration and closing of such a beautiful project. We had the immense opportunity to volunteer with the Niños in 2014. Now, a decade later, along with our own children, we are grateful to be a part of this closing.
