A Revolutionary Children’s Home in Peru’s Sacred Valley
Since 1990, Niños del Sol has been raising a group of orphaned and abandoned youth in a non-traditional Children’s Home. Instead of an institution, they’ve grown up as a family, with daily yoga, meditation, and lots of love.

After our founder, Mama Kia, passed away, the current administrators took over with a simple goal in mind: To keep her children together as a family and raise them to adulthood.
Over the years, that mission grew to include providing a college education and supporting each youth until they were ready for adult life.
Now, at the beginning of 2025, our youngest has turned 18 and graduated high school. Our mission as a children’s home is complete!
We’re celebrating with a ceremony weekend on March 2&3, 2025, and our entire Global Family is invited to join us! (please rsvp at the link)
Although officially our work as a Children’s Home will be complete, we still have four youths enrolled in college. We’ve secured sponsors to cover their expenses, but we’re still pooling funds to leave behind an emergency fund for them.

A Revolution in Love and Healing
Our innovative program works.
Today, these kids are graduating college and beginning careers in filmmaking, science, tourism, and the arts. Three have even volunteered on a kibbutz in Israel.
These “disadvantaged” kids are bringing prosperity to their villages, inspiring other young people in their village to dream bigger — and breaking cycles of poverty and abuse in their families forever.
Our kids know how to grow food organically and take turns preparing nourishing meals.
Yoga, mindfulness, and meditation help them deal with the pressures of adolescence and young adulthood.
Our innovative program has received ZERO government funding or grants. Everything we have accomplished was funded by loving hearts like yours. Together, we have changed lives.
