Puente Del Sol

We changed lives together… Let’s do it again!

The youth of Niños del Sol have been incredibly successful compared to their peers —working in professional fields and inspiring other indigenous youth in Peru to reach for the stars.

With your help, we can continue our work by setting up a new apartment and supporting another generation of indigenous youth through higher education.

We’ve already identified a group of young people with big spirits and big dreams who want our support. It’ll take just $5,000 per month to provide these kids with everything they need to succeed in life.

But we can’t sign a lease on an apartment for them until we know we have the income to sustain it. We can’t move forward without support from donors like you.

Meet the youth below, and please consider helping us get this program off the ground!

Meet the Students We Hope to Serve

Roxana

I come from the Q’eros community, the last Inca community in the Peruvian Andes.

I want to study Tourism to be a professional Tour Guide. My dream is to take people to my community to teach about our ancient ways.

I hope to help my community develop and have access to education, water and health services.

Berta

I come from the Q’ero community in the highlands of Cusco, which only offers primary education.

Most girls my age (16) begin to have children and be married, I want to continue learning and to be an educated woman.

I don’t want to marry and have children now. I want to be able to study, become a professional, and return to my community to teach young girls and boys that there are other options in life — that we don’t have to continue working as alpaca herders or as potatoes sellers in the Cusco markets.

I want to have the opportunity to be a woman that can give others opportunities for growth and development as humans.

Edwin

I want to be a professional Chef. I’m currently attending the first semester at the school in Cusco.

It is very hard to commute every day to go to school and to juggle schedules between work and school.

I want to graduate and after a year of practice at different restaurants I want to be able to open one in my community to give employment opportunities and to grow together.

Rocio

I want to study Graphic Design. I love manual and visual arts, and I enjoy creating artful structures using recycled materials, I like baking artful cakes and cookies.

I began to study, but I had to leave school to work. I want to grow professionally to help my family and my community.

I want to be an inspiration to other young women for them to see that yes! it is possible to be educated and not necessarily to have children when we are teenagers because we don’t see other options for our life as Quechua women.

Marco (Formerly of Niños Del Sol)

My name is Marco Manotupa, I’m 25 years old, I’m currently incarcerated in a prison in Cusco, Peru. I made mistakes for which I’m paying back and learning in a very drastic manner.T

he Peruvian prisons system is implementing academic education for inmates. With the support of Avishai and Viviana, and the Ninos del Sol organization, I’m able to begin taking advantage of this offering and I got enrolled in Law School.

For me to continue I need your support and your trust in me. I want to learn about the law and its many ways of working to work with youth to prevent them from having experiences such as mine.

Ada, 22 (formerly of Niños Del Sol)

My long time dream is to become a Veterinarian. I’m now a Veterinarian Technician, which means I assist the Veterinarian doctor and work between 8 to 10 hours a day. I

want to advance in my career and be able to go to the university, for this I need economic help to support my housing and living expenses. I want to become a Doctor Veterinarian to provide services in the various communities of the Cusco region, in particular in my community.

These students have left their families behind to pursue their dreams in Cusco. To succeed, they need nourishing food, mentorship, coaching, emotional support, and accountability.

We can provide all of that for them — but only if we have your support!

We need a steady income to rent an apartment in Cusco where we can support 6-8 students at a time. Your monthly donation of any size contributes to their stability and success, and will make a difference in their families for many generations to come.

There’s no better way to create deep, life-changing impact for just a few dollars a week.

Will you help?
